According to Yonhapinfomax, Kwon Kwang-seok, former chief executive of Woori Bank, became the only external candidate to publicly disclose his identity in the race to select the next chairman of KB Financial Group, as announced on July 3. KB Financial's chair recommendation committee released a shortlist comprising four internal and two external candidates, with Kwon as the sole externally identified nominee. Kwon stated that he chose to reveal his name to demonstrate the transparency of KB Financial's succession procedure and to strengthen governance structures across the financial sector.
