Former Chungju Official Sold 1,000 Samsung Electronics Shares at 62,000 Won, Regretting 330% Gain If Held

According to KBS Entertainment interview aired on July 23, Kim Seon-tae, a former South Korean government official turned YouTube personality, disclosed he sold 1,000 Samsung Electronics shares at 62,000 won per share after purchasing them at 58,000 won in 2022. Kim revealed he had mortgaged his house to fund the investment, but sold after growing frustrated with the stock's prolonged stagnation over more than two years. If he had held the shares to July 24, 2026, his 58 million won investment would have grown to approximately 249.5 million won in value, representing a 330.2% return, according to Korean Exchange data.
