Foreign Investors Buy 2.6211 Trillion Won of Korean Stocks in Two Months, KOSPI Rises 0.74%

According to Korea Exchange, foreign investors made net purchases of 2.6211 trillion won on July 21, the largest inflow in about two months. The buying momentum lifted the KOSPI to close 0.74% higher at 6797.70. The semiconductor sector, which had seen 12 consecutive weeks of selling, also returned to net purchases with 900 billion won bought. Analysts at Hana Securities suggested that if foreign investor buying sustains, the market could deliver expected returns of 15-25% over the next year, contingent on won-dollar exchange rate stability.
