According to the Digital Yuan Operating and Management Center, five major Chinese banks—Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of Communications, Postal Savings Bank of China, and Industrial Bank—have enabled offline payment code functionality in their digital yuan wallets as of July 13. The feature allows users to generate payment codes in low or no-network conditions, with the system automatically switching to offline mode without manual intervention. Users must have enabled small-amount passwordless payment beforehand to use the feature.
