Expert Says U.S.-Iran Ceasefire Memorandum Limited in Scope and Effectiveness on June 13

According to Jin10, Qin Tian, deputy director of the Institute for Middle East Studies at China's Institute of Contemporary International Relations, said on June 13 that the forthcoming U.S.-Iran ceasefire memorandum would be relatively limited in both scope and effectiveness. The expert noted that both sides have different interpretations of the agreement's text, and the memorandum fails to provide a comprehensive solution to key disputes between the two nations. Qin added that ongoing military tensions in the Persian Gulf and regional conflicts, including Israeli operations in southern Lebanon, could undermine subsequent negotiations.
