According to Brickken, ERC-7943, the Universal Real-World Asset (uRWA) standard, reached Final status on May 26, 2026, freezing its design for compliant real-world asset tokenization across EVM networks.
The standard introduces a modular, vendor-neutral framework that supports transfer validation, asset freezing, and enforcement actions without binding issuers to specific identity providers or compliance infrastructure. Dario Lo Buglio, lead author of ERC-7943, stated that the design enables regulatory controls to be integrated as pluggable modules. Brickken, the Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA), and Chainlink have already begun integrating ERC-7943 into production systems.
