ECB President Lagarde Hints at Stepping Down to Run in 2027 French Presidential Election

According to Jin10, ECB President Christine Lagarde on July 2 hinted she might step down from her current role if eurozone inflation stabilizes, to run in France's 2027 presidential election. Lagarde said she believes "there should be a European voice" in the presidential race. She also commented on France-EU relations, stating that if candidates propose reducing France's participation in the EU, someone needs to explain to voters why that path is unviable. "France will have to make brave decisions on difficult issues," she said.
