According to Beating, DeepSeek has secured approximately 50 billion yuan (roughly $7 billion USD) in its first funding round recently. The round comprises 10 billion yuan each from Alibaba, Tencent, and China’s National Fund, plus 20 billion yuan from founder Liang Wenfeng. The company is valued at approximately 350 billion yuan.
Huawei reportedly participated in investment negotiations, while traditional top-tier venture capital and private equity firms did not secure allocation. The funding addresses DeepSeek’s critical shortage in talent retention and computing power infrastructure.
