On Sunday, June 7, according to Jin10, Christodoulou Patsalidis, governor of the Cyprus central bank and member of the European Central Bank's governing council, called for Europe to establish common safe assets through joint sovereign debt issuance. Patsalidis stated that current economic, geopolitical, and institutional conditions create a strong case for such assets, which would reduce financing costs, strengthen EU sovereignty, and provide funding for green and digital transitions, artificial intelligence, defense, public health, and energy security initiatives.
