According to CMA CGM on July 22, the French shipping company will implement an emergency fuel surcharge effective August 1 due to escalating hostile activities in the Strait of Hormuz. The company cited a sharp rise in fuel prices over recent days, reversing prior week-on-week stabilization trends and significantly increasing shipping costs across all regions and routes.

The surcharge ranges from $65 to $165 per container and will remain in effect until further notice.
