Citron Research Founder Andrew Left Convicted of Securities Fraud, Faces 20+ Years Prison

According to Bloomberg, on June 2, Citron Research founder Andrew Left was convicted of securities fraud and 12 other charges following a three-week trial in Los Angeles. The jury found him guilty on 13 of 17 counts. Prosecutors alleged Left used misleading social media posts between 2018 and 2023 to manipulate stock prices of dozens of companies, earning over $20 million from the scheme. Left faces more than 20 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for August 31.
