According to China’s State Council General Office on May 11, the 2026 legislative work plan prioritizes comprehensive legislation on artificial intelligence governance and healthy AI development. The plan includes expediting legislation on shared elements for AI—including data, computing power, algorithms, intellectual property, cybersecurity, and supply chain security—as well as regulating key AI application scenarios.
