China's Stamp Duty Rises 27.8% to 206.3B Yuan in Jan-Apr, Securities Trading Tax Up 74.8%

According to China's Ministry of Finance, reported on May 20, stamp duty revenue reached 206.3 billion yuan in January-April 2026, up 27.8% year-over-year. Securities trading stamp tax, a subset of total stamp duty, surged 74.8% to 93.5 billion yuan. General public budget revenue for the period totaled 834.04 billion yuan, growing 3.5% compared to the same period last year.
