On May 28 afternoon, China's military expelled a Dutch Navy helicopter that illegally entered Xisha Islands airspace, according to Defense Ministry spokesman Jiang Bin. The helicopter, operating from the Dutch frigate De Ruyter, violated Chinese sovereignty and prompted Chinese naval and air forces to take expulsion measures. China lodged formal protests with the Netherlands and called for an end to such violations.
