China's Market Regulator Holds Accountability Meeting With Sam's Club Over Food Safety Violations

According to China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), the agency held a responsibility meeting with Walmart (China) Investment Co. Ltd., parent company of Sam's Club, over multiple food safety violations discovered in both physical stores and online shops in recent months. The regulator required the company to strictly comply with food safety laws and regulations, implement food safety controls across its supply chain, and strengthen food safety awareness to protect public health.
