China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets ASEAN Secretary-General in Manila on July 21

According to Xinhua, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hoong in Manila on July 21. Wang stated that China adheres to equal treatment of all nations regardless of size and pursues a good-neighbor policy in the region. He noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, which China was among the first major powers to sign. Wang reiterated China's commitment to supporting ASEAN Community building and ASEAN unity, positioning China as the region's most important stabilizing anchor.
