China's Food Prices Fall 0.8% in June; Pork Drops 15.9%, National Bureau of Statistics Reports

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, food and beverage prices in June declined 0.8% year-over-year, reducing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) by approximately 0.24 percentage points. Meat prices fell 7.3%, with pork prices dropping 15.9%, the largest contributor to the CPI decline at 0.30 percentage points. Dairy prices decreased 1.7% and fresh fruit prices fell 0.7%, while egg prices rose 16.0%, pushing CPI up 0.08 percentage points.
