China, Philippines Reaffirm One-China Principle in June 30 Bilateral Talks

According to Jin10, on June 30, 2026, China's Foreign Ministry Asian Affairs Division Director Liu Jinsong held bilateral talks with Philippine officials in Manila. The Philippine side reaffirmed the one-China principle contained in the Sino-Philippine joint communiqué, acknowledged the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government of China, and recognized that Taiwan is an inseparable part of Chinese territory. Philippine officials emphasized high regard for ties with China and commitment to implementing leadership consensus while managing differences constructively. The Philippines pledged not to bring bilateral disputes into ASEAN meetings during its ASEAN chair rotation.
