China Implements Safeguard Measures on Imported Beef With Country-Specific Quotas as of December 31, 2025

According to China's Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yongqian, the ministry implemented safeguard measures on imported beef effective December 31, 2025, applying country-specific quotas and additional tariffs on over-quota imports.

To enhance transparency, the Ministry of Commerce and China Customs will issue notifications when import volumes from any country reach a certain percentage of their annual quota and when the quota is fully reached.
