According to CoinDesk, on May 13, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson criticized Section 604 of the CLARITY Act, stating that the provision could expose open-source developers to long-term legal liability for misuse of their code by others. Hoskinson warned that developers publishing open-source software may face “permanent legal responsibility” even when their code is used without authorization, arguing this poses a serious threat to open-source innovation.
