Capital Economics Maintains Thailand 2026 Growth Forecast at 2.0%, Down from 2.4% in 2025

GateNews

According to Gareth Lethcher, senior economist at Capital Economics, Thailand’s economic growth is forecast to slow in 2026, with the firm maintaining its projection at 2.0% for the year, down from 2.4% in 2025. Despite recent government stimulus measures, the economy faces headwinds from rising Middle Eastern tensions, with Thailand’s vulnerability as a major net energy importer in the region contributing to slower expansion.
