Canada's PM Demands Three Conditions Before BC Benefits From Planned Pipeline Project

GateNews

Canadian Prime Minister Carole Kahn stated today that British Columbia should receive substantial economic and fiscal benefits from a planned pipeline project to the province's coast, conditional on three requirements: ensuring the province gains concrete benefits, simultaneously building a large-scale carbon capture project, and conducting adequate consultation with local Indigenous communities.

BC Provincial Premier David Eby currently opposes the pipeline. He emphasized that while BC is pursuing major projects to strengthen its local economy amid U.S.-Canada trade tensions, such projects must be balanced with environmental protection.
