ByteDance Partner Signs US$2 Billion Power Deal for Brazil Data Center on May 18

According to Reuters, on May 18, Omnia signed a US$2 billion 20-year power deal with generator Casa dos Ventos to supply electricity to ByteDance’s data center under construction at Pecem port complex in Ceara, Brazil. Construction began in January, with operations expected to start in the third quarter of 2027. The project is planned to expand through 2029 with total estimated investment of 200 billion reais (about US$39.9 billion).
