According to SoSoValue data, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $75.7 million in net inflows for the week ending July 17, marking a second consecutive week of positive flows. Combined with the prior week's $197.4 million in inflows, the two-week recovery totals $273.1 million—yet this represents only 3.3% of the $8.2 billion that exited the funds over eight consecutive weeks between mid-May and early July.

Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Eric Balchunas highlighted on July 17 that Bitcoin ETFs may follow gold ETFs' 22-year trajectory, as both are non-yielding stores of value with prices driven primarily by investor sentiment. Gold ETF GLD briefly became the world's largest ETF in 2011 before spending eight years recovering, a pattern Balchunas sees echoed in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF (IBIT), which crossed $100 billion in assets last October alongside Bitcoin's peak above $126,000, then declined as Bitcoin fell to near $64,000.
