Balaji Seeks Malaysia MOU for Network School, Threatens to Relocate on Failed Deal

According to a video posted Thursday, Balaji Srinivasan is seeking a memorandum of understanding with Malaysia to provide legal certainty for his Network School tech community in Johor's Forest City. The move comes after Malaysia's Home Affairs Ministry launched an investigation into the community following claims it harbored Israeli citizens in violation of immigration laws. Srinivasan announced he is suspending further investment, including a $122 million expansion plan, until he receives "sufficient assurance" such issues won't recur. "If not, then we will readily go somewhere else because I don't want to be where we're not welcome," Srinivasan said.
