ASML Denies EUV Lithography Systems Shipped to China on Friday; Netherlands Reiterates Export Controls

According to Reuters, semiconductor equipment maker ASML denied on Friday (June 19) that it had ever shipped extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems to China. The company stated via email: "ASML has never shipped EUV lithography systems to China, nor has it delivered any components, modules, or equipment designed specifically for EUV systems to China."

The denial comes after reports that U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick raised concerns about potential EUV equipment reaching China in violation of U.S.-led export controls. The Dutch government similarly reaffirmed strict enforcement of semiconductor export regulations under European dual-use controls and national measures, stating that "all equipment, components, and technology covered by these regulations require licensing and will be subject to intervention when necessary."
