According to BlockBeats, Apple kicked off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 8 in Cupertino, running through June 12. This marks the final WWDC hosted by Tim Cook in his capacity as Chief Executive Officer; Cook is scheduled to transition to Executive Chairman on September 1, with hardware chief John Ternus taking over as CEO.
The conference centers on a revamp of Apple's AI strategy following criticism of Apple Intelligence's delayed rollout and underperforming features. The company will introduce iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27, with updates emphasizing performance optimization, battery life, system stability, and AI capabilities. A redesigned Siri—codenamed "Campo"—will serve as the cornerstone of this effort, upgrading from a basic voice assistant to a system-wide intelligent agent capable of understanding on-screen content and executing cross-app tasks. Apple also plans to integrate third-party AI services including Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude alongside ChatGPT. Additionally, Apple will launch a new CoreAI platform granting developers expanded AI capabilities.
