According to Reuters, Apple and Intel reached a preliminary chipmaking agreement in recent months, with Intel set to manufacture some chips for Apple devices. The specific Apple products involved remain unclear. Apple shares rose approximately 2% and Intel jumped about 14% following the announcement. The deal would expand Apple’s chip production capacity beyond Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and provide Intel with a significant foundry customer.
