AI Agent Startup Band Raises $17M Seed Round Led by Sierra Ventures, Hetz Ventures, Team8

GateNews

Gate News message, April 24 — Band, a startup building a communication and collaboration platform for AI agents, has closed a $17 million seed round led by Sierra Ventures, Hetz Ventures, and Team8. Founded in mid-2025 by CEO Arick Goomanovsky and CTO Vlad Luzin, the company develops software for real-time coordination among AI agents, humans, and enterprise systems.

Band’s platform includes controls for permissions, policy enforcement, and visibility across AI agent operations. Goomanovsky previously co-founded Sygnia and Ermetic, both acquired by major cybersecurity firms. The company has already generated initial revenue and is working with approximately 10 partners.

By 2028, the average Fortune 500 company is projected to deploy more than 150,000 AI agents, up from fewer than 15 in 2025. This rapid expansion creates “AI sprawl,” where organizations lose visibility into agent usage, behavior, and operational costs. Band positions itself in the emerging “control plane” layer of the AI agent market, offering governance and security features alongside existing developer frameworks and cloud platforms from providers like AWS and Google.
