Aave founder Stani criticized on June 22 the Bank of England's stablecoin regulation, stating that requiring issuers to hold 30% of reserves in non-interest-bearing central bank accounts significantly weakens the economic viability of stablecoin issuance and functions as a de facto tax on operators. The policy, combined with a £40 billion issuance cap, may force companies to relocate to offshore markets, Stani said on X.
