90% of Economists Predict Bank of Japan Will Raise Rates Again by Year-End

According to a Bloomberg survey conducted Wednesday, 90% of 44 economists predict the Bank of Japan will raise its benchmark interest rate from the current 1% by the end of 2026, following the central bank's recent hike to its highest level since 1995. December is the most favored timing, with 52% of respondents selecting that month, while 36% expect an October increase and nearly 25% point to September as the earliest possibility.
