80% of S&P 500 Companies Beat Q2 Earnings Expectations, Strongest Rate Since 2021

According to Bank of America Securities equity strategist Savita Subramanian, 80% of S&P 500 companies that have reported Q2 earnings have beaten per-share earnings (EPS) expectations, the strongest beat rate since 2021.

EPS growth is currently tracking at 24%, up 2 percentage points from July 1 data. Bank of America projects that as more companies report earnings, year-over-year EPS growth will reach 28%.
