29 of 109 Large Tankers Escape Persian Gulf Since Iran Conflict Began in February

GateNews
According to Bloomberg shipping data cited by Jin10, 29 of 109 large tankers trapped in the Persian Gulf have successfully transited through the Strait of Hormuz as of May 29. The vessels, each with carrying capacity of at least 700,000 barrels, were stranded after the conflict erupted on February 28 and the strategic chokepoint became effectively closed. While the escaped cargo represents only a small fraction of crude and refined oil still held up in the Gulf, it has been rapidly absorbed by global markets facing record-low inventory buffers.
