1X Technologies Unveils NEO Robotic Hand With 25 Degrees of Freedom on July 10

According to PANews, 1X Technologies unveiled its next-generation NEO robotic hand system on July 10, featuring 25 degrees of freedom with tendon-driven design and achieving near-human dexterity and force control. The hand incorporates high-resolution tactile sensing to detect normal force, contact location, and shear force, with all joints supporting force control and full back-drivability.

Key performance metrics include 3.5 Nm peak torque on the thumb CMC joint, 2.6 Nm on finger MCP joints, 45 N distal flexion force, and 17.75 Nm wrist torque, with positioning accuracy of ±0.2 mm. The company has demonstrated capabilities ranging from assembling Lego to picking coins and inserting USB-C connectors. 1X stated it has achieved annual production capacity of 10,000 hands.
