Cronos Faces Trust Test After Supply Reversal
Cronos remains under pressure after a restored token supply reversed its previous scarcity narrative and weakened long-term confidence.
CRO trades near $0.06 despite major marketing campaigns, while recurring monthly unlocks continue increasing available market supply.
Technical structure remains bearish as repeated breakdowns and lower highs leave investors watching long-term support levels closely.
Cronos remains under close market scrutiny after supply changes and prolonged technical weakness reshaped investor sentiment. The asset continues trading near long-term support as traders evaluate supply dynamics alongside bearish market structure.
Cronos Rally Lost Momentum After Scarcity Narrative Changed
Crypto Patel revisited Cronos through a detailed market thread examining technical and fundamental developments. The discussion centered on how changing token economics affected long-term investor confidence. The tweet was made in conjunction with the below weekly chart.

Following intense global marketing, Cronos began to surge in 2021 during the bull market. Crypto.com’s naming rights deal at the stadium and major advertising contracts were made. Those promotions happened at the time of a highly publicized 70 billion token burn announcement.
That burn reduced the reported token supply from 100 billion to roughly 30 billion. Investors widely viewed the move as strengthening long-term scarcity. CRO has since rallied from nearly $0.06 to the highest price to date of $0.97.
During 2022, a structural reversal starts on the weekly chart. Price lost its primary ascending trendline before forming repeated lower highs. That breakdown established a bearish structure which remained intact throughout subsequent recoveries.
Governance Decision Shifted Attention Toward Supply Growth
Crypto Patel identifies March 2025 as the defining turning point for Cronos. Crypto.com approved a proposal restoring the previously burned 70 billion tokens. The restored allocation entered a newly created Strategic Reserve.
According to the shared analysis, total supply returned from approximately 30 billion to 100 billion. That represented a supply increase exceeding 233% through one governance action. The decision fundamentally changed the previous scarcity framework.
The thread states the proposal received roughly 62% voting approval. Crypto Patel questioned governance decentralization because Crypto.com allegedly controlled substantial voting influence. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT also criticized the decision within the broader discussion.
The analysis further notes recurring monthly token unlocks from the Strategic Reserve. Approximately 1.16 billion CRO reportedly enter circulation every month through 2026. Those releases continue adding fresh supply into the market over time.
Technical Structure Keeps CRO Near Multi-Year Support
The weekly chart shows another failed recovery attempt during 2025. CRO lost a secondary rising trendline after briefly rebuilding upward momentum. That second breakdown reinforced the broader bearish technical structure.
Cronos as of writing trades around $0.06 after declining nearly 95% from its peak. Buyers continue defending historical support near the current range. However, higher highs have not yet replaced the prevailing sequence of lower highs.
The analysis also references positive developments that produced only temporary market reactions. A reported $105 million Trump Media treasury purchase briefly supported sentiment. Speculation surrounding a potential CRO ETF also failed sustaining upward momentum.
Crypto Patel presents Cronos as an example of changing tokenomics influencing long-term market confidence. The chart combines persistent technical weakness with expanding supply expectations. Investors continue monitoring whether confidence can recover alongside future price structure improvements.
