$BTC 2026.7.20 Crypto market full-day news flash
BTC spot price $63,910, down slightly 0.02% over 24 hours. The whole day saw tight-range consolidation in the $64,000-$65,000 area. After multiple tests of the $65,000 integer level, it faced pressure and pulled back. ETH edged higher to $1,872; 24-hour gain of 0.79%, performing stronger than BTC.
Market sectors are extremely polarized. Among 390 major tracked tokens, only 99 are up while 291 are down. Lorenzo Protocol (BANK) surged 98.42% in a single day to lead the market, while shturl.c and Pi Network rose more than 13%. Small-cap tokens like PHB and NFPrompt crashed over 65%. MEME coins saw fierce long/short games. Total on-chain trading volume across the entire network shrank 34.37% over 24 hours, and overall trading appetite is weak.
1. Macro and geopolitical core logic
The military conflict between Iran and the U.S. continues to escalate. The U.S. military has carried out airstrikes on Iranian energy facilities for nine consecutive nights. Shipping risk in the Strait of Hormuz has spiked. Brent crude holds above the $90 level. The market worries that renewed energy price hikes will push inflation higher again, suppressing expectations for the Federal Reserve to cut rates. Upside room for interest-free crypto assets is limited.
The current market pricing gives a 97% probability that the interest rate will be kept unchanged in July. The September rate-hike expectation rebounds to 51%. The U.S. dollar and U.S. Treasury yields are moving in a small range. Overall, funds are biased toward waiting.
2. Capital and institutional dynamics
U.S. BTC spot ETFs have ended multiple days of consecutive outflows. Yesterday recorded a small net inflow, but the inflow volume was weak, and institutions are only making tentative allocations. Funds show a rotation across tracks: BTC ETFs have made a small rebound, while some funds continue to flow into SOL and XRP spot ETFs, showing a “sell BTC, rotate to altcoin layer-1 chains” pattern.
MicroStrategy’s share price is consolidating sideways. The selling pressure from the long-term cash flow caused by the BTC interest-bearing payout in July has not yet been fully lifted. Mega whales are nibbling low and taking profit high inside the venue, limiting the possibility of a one-way move.
3. Regulation and industry news
The U.S. “GENIUS stablecoin bill” has entered a Senate committee discussion. The framework clarifies a unified federal regulatory standard, which brings short-term sentiment volatility. SEC and CFTC token classification guidance has been implemented, clearly delineating the boundaries for security tokens. In the medium to long term, it eases institutional compliance concerns, but in the short term there is still no incremental capital entry effect. Sina Finance.
Heat from the AI compute-power track spills over. Alibaba and DeepSeek release a new generation of large models. The compute-token sector shows a small deviation, but it does not lift the whole market.
4. Technicals and trading ideas
Short-term resistance: 64,900-65,500. Strong support: 63,800. The price action continues to range-trade, with no clear one-way trend.
Trades are mainly swing-based. Don’t chase highs. If price rebounds into the resistance zone, take small-position short trades. If price pulls back to the support area, play short-term longs by holding the support-test thesis. Set stop-losses strictly. Only if it breaks and holds above the 65,500 level with volume can the rebound expand further. Middle East news disturbances are frequent, so avoid high leverage intraday.
