Gate officially launches real stock trading, allowing users to directly trade stocks and ETFs from major U.S. securities markets within the platform using USDT. With the launch of real stock trading services, Gate further breaks down the boundaries between crypto assets and traditional financial markets, accelerating the development of a unified trading and asset allocation system covering crypto assets, stocks, and global mainstream financial products.

Unlike the widely discussed tokenization of stocks and RWA (Real-World Asset) mapping models in the current market, the stock service launched by Gate emphasizes real market access capabilities and compliant trading systems. Gate Stocks connects directly with compliant broker-dealers such as Alpaca, which hold U.S. Broker-Dealer licenses and clearing qualifications, linking directly to major U.S. securities markets to provide users with real stock and ETF trading services, rather than assets mapped on-chain or tokenized derivatives. Notably, the broker partner for Gate Stocks is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), which, under certain conditions, offers protection for clients’ securities assets, further strengthening account asset security and investor protection systems.

In terms of trading coverage, compared to most tokenized stock platforms that typically support only a few hundred assets, Gate currently supports over 10,000 stocks and ETFs, covering major U.S. securities exchanges such as NYSE, Nasdaq, NYSE Arca, NYSE American, BATS, and liquidity networks, providing users with a richer and more comprehensive selection of global securities assets for allocation. Currently, Gate Stocks supports intraday trading, with plans to gradually expand to 24/7 around-the-clock trading, offering a more flexible and efficient trading experience for users worldwide.

After completing platform KYC verification and meeting regional access requirements, users can enter the stock section in the TradFi tab within the Gate app to view market quotes, and participate in stock trading by transferring stablecoins via the trading or asset pages. Users do not need to perform complex additional steps, making it easier to participate in global stock market investments and achieve efficient allocation between crypto assets and traditional financial markets.

In terms of product structure, Gate Stocks operates independently from traditional CFD (Contract for Difference) systems. Users buy, hold, and sell stock assets through their Gate accounts with separate fund management. Unlike perpetual contracts with funding rates or CFD products with swap fees, overnight fees, and other holding costs, Gate stock spot trading does not involve funding rates or overnight position fees, making it more suitable for users with long-term U.S. stock asset allocation needs.

Currently, the product only supports market orders during trading hours; margin trading and short-selling features will be gradually introduced later. Additionally, Gate plans to support one-click transfers of stock assets between brokerages in the future, further improving asset liquidity and cross-platform management experience. Users can also view and manage holdings, profit and loss, fund flows, and corporate actions (such as dividends, stock splits, mergers) within their accounts, with related earnings automatically credited to user accounts according to platform rules.
