Recently, I've been messing around with the IBC / cross-chain messaging system again. To put it simply, every time you "cross over," it's not just a matter of one simple line: the source chain must have reliable consensus, relayers can't drop the ball (although theoretically anyone can run one, you're still trusting that "someone will help deliver the message"), the target chain needs to recognize this message, and it also depends on how the application layer verifies and processes it. Ultimately, it comes down to the step where you sign: whether the wallet/frontend shows you the same thing or not... I’m currently mostly testing small amounts with one-time wallets, and if something goes wrong, I’ll just consider it a learning fee. In blockchain games, once inflation kicks in and studios start entering, cross-chain asset transfers back and forth feel more like an accelerating spiral, which is pretty scary. Anyway, before each cross-chain transfer, I take a screenshot and save it as a "post-mortem material library" for myself... that’s it for now.
