Federal Reserve Officials Warn That Tightening Policy Could Last Longer Than Expected

🔸 Boston Fed Chair Susan Collins said interest rates could stay high for a longer period, and did not rule out the possibility that the FED may need to continue tightening if inflation continues to heat up due to oil prices and geopolitical tensions. Collins emphasized that bringing inflation back to the 2% target remains the FED's top priority.
🔸 Although the FED remains open to the possibility of cutting rates by the end of the year if inflation cools, Collins warned that a prolonged conflict scenario and rising prices could force the FED to take stronger action. This has caused risk-on markets like crypto to closely monitor upcoming CPI data and monetary policy. $XAU
