All Gate Portal users, partners, and media friends: This year, Gate Portal celebrates its thirteenth year. When I created this platform, Bitcoin and blockchain technology were very uncommon topics. Today, Gate Portal has become a platform serving hundreds of millions of users around the world. None of this would have happened without the trust and support of every user, partner, and team member along the way. On the occasion of the thirteenth anniversary, I would like to share with you the journey of Gate Portal’s development, its milestone achievements, and our ideas for the future.

Starting point: Leaving certainty and embracing the unknown
Thirteen years ago, I made an inappropriate choice in a path of life that was already quite clear.
At that time, I was working abroad as a research fellow after a PhD in light and electronics. Following the known path, being an academic researcher, was a certain and widely welcomed route.
Mentally, there was little need to make additional decisions.
But I chose to leave it.
If I had continued focusing on the same field, in light and electronics, perhaps in chip technology, today would be a completely different path.
In those waves of technology that changed the world, these paths were not lacking in certainty or value.
But at that time, the question was not “which way is safer,” but which direction is closer to the point of the upcoming structural change.
The blockchain industry was then an almost unreferenced path, suffering from a lack of consensus.
It was less certain and easier to ignore; but for that reason, it required higher long-term judgment, patience, and more constraints.
In terms of results, this choice defined the following thirteen years.
It’s like a decision made by one person.
No team, no resources, not even a clear path.
From one person to a small team of more than ten people, then to a global organization approaching three thousand, this journey itself was a kind of answer.
I still remember the first team building. It was on a cold winter day, with a few people, their faces frozen from the cold.
There was no clear plan, and there was no “team” as such.
We just sat together, talking about uncertain things still.
But at that moment, it was very real.
Later, the team gradually expanded, the paths became clearer, and things became more organized and controlled.
Only when recalling that moment, I still feel that the starting point was indeed there.
Defining capability through action
Looking back, this choice was no coincidence.
Since childhood, I used to decide for myself, preferring to verify answers myself rather than rely on ready-made paths.
After graduating from middle school and owning my first computer, I began to learn programming systematically, disassemble devices, and reassemble them repeatedly, which was one of the things I paid the most attention to at that time.
Regarding results, I focused more on the process itself—understanding how it works, then rebuilding it.
This focus on “fundamental mechanisms” continued later in organized learning.
Choosing electronics as my university major was not just a choice of specialization, but a deeper extension.
At that stage, I spent more time on experiments and applications compared to traditional courses, adopting a problem-based learning style.
When I entered my master's and PhD phases, this approach deepened further.
I spent most of my time in the lab, from design, experimentation, to repeated verification, with a very focused rhythm.
Like Gate Portal’s investment in R&D for smart Web3, where the team worked tirelessly for nearly two months, everything was exciting, and we succeeded.
Looking back now, this experience left a long-lasting impact, including sensitivity to details, patience with complex systems, and an almost innate work pace.
Some colleagues even said that this might be a normal start to working late into the night.
At the beginning of the company’s founding, I was always the last to leave the office.
Many decisions and thoughts were completed at night.
And at dawn, I would take a few hours to rest, then start a new cycle.
Some colleagues sometimes joked that my working hours always seemed to differ from others.
But, on the other hand, this rhythm is my way of understanding problems and making decisions.
I enjoy “undisturbed time” this way.
Crossing the unknown and fog
In a field that has not yet been verified or fully understood, long-term investment is an adventure in itself.
At that time, the industry did not have clear rules, mature infrastructure, or even basic mutual trust.
What we face is not just a technical problem, but a deeper judgment—does the world really need rebuilding?
Our answer was yes.
And so, Gate Portal took its first step.
If we try to understand this journey more clearly, the first years were almost always on the “less crowded road.”
Lack of understanding was the norm; skepticism, even neglect, was also the norm.
But looking back, the “less traveled” path often marks the beginning of a new pattern of technological change—just like today’s smart Web3, which also went through a long phase of doubt, lack of consensus, and long-term value verification.
From indifference to widespread discussion; from marginal exploration to becoming part of the core infrastructure.
During this process, Gate Portal maintained an innovative pace, faced challenges, and launched new products, technologies, and patterns.
Looking back, I realize I made mistakes in some ways, made imperfect decisions, but every attempt gained experience for the future, and all were worthwhile.
I told the team that the cost of our mistakes over the years has exceeded billions.
In the peak moments of industry enthusiasm, we did not lose our fundamental judgment; in times of pessimism, we did not abandon our long-term investments.
We began to realize that what determines a platform’s survival is not its ability to scale during economic cycles, but its ability to exercise self-control during tough times.
Can we resist temptation?
Are we aware of risks?
Do we stick to basic logic despite uncertainty?
These matters are much more important than growth itself.
Thanks to these ongoing efforts and progress, we have moved from explorers to more capable builders in the industry:
The structural push and reshaping of the industry
Today, as we begin our thirteenth year, we see the industry shifting from “storytelling leadership” to “infrastructure leadership”;
From “emotional amplification” to “value anchoring”;
From partial innovation to broader integration with reality.
New variables are entering this system: technology, regulation, macro environment, and the broader user structure.
This means the entry barrier to the industry is rising, and long-term holders’ opportunities are increasing.
Gate Portal is also shifting from being a creator to shaping the industry’s infrastructure.
We are no longer limited to providing trading services but are trying to build more integrated relationships—connecting users with assets, linking liquidity with innovation, and bridging structural opportunities across different markets.
This is a more complex path, requiring greater responsibility.
By 2025, it’s not just a year of growth, but a conscious structural push.
In the main markets, spot and derivatives, we continue to deepen, improve efficiency, and enhance risk management to strengthen our leading position in the mainstream trading system.
These capabilities are not just about size but form the foundation for surpassing cycles.
But the most significant change occurs outside trading.
Over the past year, within the framework of compliance and globalization, we continued building licenses and local capabilities.
This is not just passive adaptation but proactive entry into a more competitive environment with higher standards.
At the same time, we are working on several fronts:
— To connect crypto assets more directly with the real world;
— To reshape the boundaries between traditional finance and on-chain systems;
— From CeFi to DeFi, making the platform not just a carrier of centralized infrastructure but part of a more open system;
— And AI, which redefines efficiency limits in trading, risk management, and decision-making.
These different paths are now converging to form a clearer main line, where the industry shifts from “leadership through trading” to “leadership through infrastructure.”
At this stage, the core of competition has changed.
It’s no longer just about products, but about system capabilities;
And no longer just about size, but about structure and standards.
What Gate Portal does is not just chasing short-term storytelling, but laying the groundwork on multiple critical levels in advance.
When the next cycle of the industry begins, platforms with real infrastructure capabilities will not just be participants but part of the rules.
We know well that this position will not be granted in the short term.
It is built gradually through continuous investment, restraint, and sound judgment.
And 2025 is just a stage in this journey.
Birth and future: Gate Portal defines the next phase
Twelve years seem like a complete cycle.
From early exploration, to expansion, then contraction and rebuilding, we have almost gone through all stages of this sector’s evolution: from boom, to bubbles, to collapse, to reconstruction, and then to forming a new consensus.
It’s not just a matter of passing time, but a continuous recalibration of knowledge, capability, and boundaries.
For us, the thirteenth year is not just “continuity.” It’s a new beginning.
If we compare Gate Portal to a person, what does it mean to be 13 years old and entering adolescence?
It’s no longer an entity dependent on external environment for survival, nor has it become a fully stable and mature system.
It has started to have its own judgment, to understand the rules, and to try to define the rules as well.
It knows the world is not simple, but chooses to move forward.
The next phase has already begun.
Every plan and every innovation is not just about growth, but about reshaping the industry’s profile.
We will use high-level strategies, continuous innovation, and a deep vision of the industry to reshape the rules, lead trends, and make Gate Portal an indispensable force in the market landscape.
Thank you for your trust and choices at various stages.
In an industry full of volatility and uncertainty, this trust is never taken for granted.
Thirteen years, and we are still on the way.
Like a growing, imperfect being, but more aware;
We don’t make promises easily, but we take responsibility for every choice we make.
The future is long, and we will walk together.
