According to CNN reporting on May 10, U.S. military reconnaissance aircraft have conducted at least 25 flights near Cuba since February 4, with operations approaching within 64 kilometers of the coast near Havana and Santiago. The flights involved P-8A, RC-135C manned aircraft, and MQ-4C unmanned drones executing reconnaissance, surveillance, and electronic signal collection missions. CNN’s analysis of publicly available flight data indicated the frequency and proximity of these operations represent a significant increase compared to historical patterns.
