U.S. Dollar Index Rises 0.23% to 98.524 on May 13

The U.S. Dollar Index, which measures the dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.23% on May 13 to close at 98.524 as of New York market close. Against major currency pairs, the euro weakened to 1.1707 per dollar from 1.1741, while sterling fell to 1.3516 from 1.3532. The yen strengthened to 157.90 per dollar from 157.59, the Swiss franc rose to 0.7823 from 0.7808, the Canadian dollar climbed to 1.3716 from 1.3701, and the Swedish krona advanced to 9.3279 from 9.2926.
