U.S. Bank: May CPI to Rise to 4.2%, Highest Since April 2023, on Energy Price Jump

According to U.S. Bank's Global Research division, May consumer price inflation is forecast to climb 0.46% month-on-month, with annual CPI reaching 4.2%—the highest level since April 2023. The increase is primarily driven by energy price gains, according to Jin10.

Core CPI is expected to show more moderate growth, rising 0.2% month-on-month and 2.8% year-on-year.
