According to Golden Finance, on May 8, U.S. President Trump stated at the White House that the U.S. may revive Operation Prosperity Guardian, aimed at clearing ships trapped in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said he considers the operation a good idea but noted there are other solutions available. He added that if progress is not made, the U.S. could restart the operation in an upgraded form with additional measures beyond the original plan. Trump also indicated he expected to receive Iran’s response to the U.S. proposal for a bilateral agreement that evening.
