According to BlockBeats, Samsung Electronics employees voted to approve a new wage agreement on May 27, averting a planned 18-day strike. Approximately 74% of employees supported the deal, and Samsung's stock price rose 8% the same day.
Under the agreement, chip division employees will receive fixed cash bonuses equal to 50% of annual salary plus 10.5% of semiconductor business profits, with portions paid in stock. Bloomberg calculations show chip employees will receive an average bonus of 513 million won (approximately 2.32 million CNY), with some DRAM workers receiving up to 600 million won. Non-chip business employees, by contrast, will receive average bonuses of only 6 million won (approximately 27,000 CNY), a 100-fold disparity.
