Pi Network released an April progress update on May 13, showing that the entire network has more than 18.1 million fully verified users and has completed more than 16.72 million mainnet migrations. In April alone, it completed over 100k KYC approvals and 30k mainnet migrations. However, multiple pioneers left comments under the announcement, saying their application has been stuck in the “pending KYC” status for a long time after preliminary approval, without receiving final approval.

According to Pi Network’s official April update confirmations:
Fully verified users across the entire network: more than 18.1 million
Mainnet migration completed: more than 16.72 million times
KYC approvals in April (single month): over 100k times
Mainnet migrations in April (single month): over 30k times
Total KYC verification task volume: more than 1 million people jointly completed approximately 526 million verification tasks
Since the system upgrade in October 2025: 3.36 million pioneers upgraded from the “pending” status to “fully KYC authenticated”
In a response to a statement from BeInCrypto, PCT confirmed: “‘Pending KYC’ does not mean the application is rejected. It means additional verification is required before final approval.”
PCT explained that the design of the strict KYC process is intended to prevent the following issues:
· Duplicate account migrations to the mainnet, damaging the integrity of the ecosystem
· Distortions in rewards and participation due to fake accounts
· Dilution of Pi resources for applications and services due to issues with user authenticity
For pioneers who are still in the “pending” status, PCT provides three confirmed steps:
· Complete all available liveness checks in the Pi app
· Ensure that all submitted information is accurate and clear
· Continue active mining, which can trigger system process checks
PCT added in the statement: “Addressing user issues remains the top priority. Pioneers who encounter difficulties belong to different special circumstances, and each case requires tailored technical fixes.”
Pi Network has set May 15, 2026 as the final deadline for completing the Protocol 23 upgrade for mainnet nodes. Previously, the Protocol 22 upgrade pushed the PI price up by nearly 9%, but the rally later faded. According to the token unlock plan, about 174.2 million PI tokens are scheduled to enter circulation within the next 30 days.
According to PCT’s official statement, “pending KYC” means the application has passed the preliminary review but still needs to complete additional verification steps before final approval; this status does not indicate that the application was rejected. PCT explained that this mechanism aims to approve more real users while identifying and preventing fake account and bot accounts.
PCT’s official recommendations are: complete all available liveness checks in the Pi app; ensure that all submitted information is accurate and clear; and continue active mining, which can trigger system process checks.
