According to The Times, on May 12, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been asked by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood and other senior cabinet ministers to consider setting a timeline for his departure. At least three cabinet members believe Starmer needs to reconsider his position amid strong dissatisfaction among Labour MPs.
Starmer will be informed during tomorrow’s cabinet meeting that his position is becoming increasingly “untenable” due to internal party pressure. This follows recent local elections where the ruling Labour Party suffered a major defeat, and over 70 Labour MPs have publicly called for his resignation.
