OpenAI Enters Third Development Phase, Altman Unveils Three Goals for Universal AGI Access

According to a joint statement on Monday, June 8, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Chief Research Officer Jakub Pachocki announced the company is entering its third development phase with a core mission to make advanced AI accessible to everyone.

The three key objectives outlined include building automated AI researchers to accelerate research by 2028, driving global economic progress through AI-powered productivity, and providing personal AGI to each person on Earth. Altman emphasized that advanced AI systems must remain safe, aligned with human intent, and under human control, stating that full automation "would not be the future we want." The announcement comes as OpenAI accelerates its IPO plans.
