Kalshi Referred to Regulatory Authorities Over Influencer Ad Disclosures on Monday

According to the Better Business Bureau's National Advertising Division (NAD), prediction market platform Kalshi was referred to regulatory authorities on Monday after the company declined to participate in an investigation into its social media advertising practices. The NAD review examined whether Kalshi's influencers and affiliates clearly disclosed paid relationships and whether the company complied with Federal Trade Commission endorsement guidelines. The referral moves the matter to state Attorneys General and other enforcement agencies, which will determine whether to examine Kalshi's advertising practices. The company's decision not to cooperate in the voluntary review escalates regulatory scrutiny beyond self-regulation.
