Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Rise Broadly; One-Month HIBOR at 2.35%

Gate News message, April 16 — Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates (HIBOR) rose broadly on April 16. The one-month HIBOR, commonly used for mortgage pricing, climbed to 2.34571%, up 4.922 basis points. The three-month HIBOR, reflecting bank funding costs, increased to 2.47583%, up 2.791 basis points.

Overnight rates surged to 2.62488%, up 34.012 basis points, while one-week HIBOR rose 8.964 basis points to 2.39268% and two-week HIBOR climbed 11.167 basis points to 2.39268%. Longer-dated rates showed mixed movement: six-month HIBOR fell 0.512 basis points to 2.69446%, and one-year HIBOR declined 2.298 basis points to 3.00619%.
